The Hong Kong Center of Social Sciences (香港社会科学中心, HKCSS) is a research institution established in Hong Kong SAR, China. We are committed to advancing interdisciplinary social science research that bridges governance, technology, and society.

Our mission is to produce rigorous, policy-relevant scholarship that informs institutional design and governance innovation across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. We believe that the most pressing challenges of the 21st century — from algorithmic governance to neurotechnology regulation, from digital society to low-altitude economy — require integrated social science frameworks that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries.

Foundation of the Hong Kong Center of Social Sciences as a branch of Creative Publishing Co., Limited. Registration with the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department.
2025
Launch of the inaugural journal portfolio, including HKJSS, DSVG, JAGP, NSG, QSS, and JLAE, spanning governance, technology, and society.
2026
Expansion of the journal portfolio with additional interdisciplinary titles. Development of AI-driven research methodologies and computational social science tools.
